One of the reasons Creativaire exists today is because of our ability to craft efficient and effective marketing strategies. We LOVE helping artists, businesses and brands promote with purpose!
Oftentimes we encounter incredibly talented leaders, artists and entrepreneurs creating amazing content, products and services, but very few people know about it. In the age of social media where the masses are literally at your fingertips, it’s easy to think that all you have to do is put your work out there in order for people to find it. That’s totally not true! Yes the game has changed tremendously, leveling the playing field when it comes to having access to fans and customers. But, there is still very much an art to building a brand.
Here are 3 steps to begin the process of marketing and advertising.
- Refine Your Target
As much as we like to believe that our products, services and content are for everyone, they aren’t. There is a specific audience that will naturally gravitate toward what you offer. Sure you may attract some outliers along the way, but it is important to take time to identify your primary target. Think about where they hangout, what they buy and what they watch/read/listen to. Think about how old they are, how much they make and what they may do for a living. Think about their personality traits and personal experiences. All of these details will help you to determine the best way to reach your audience.
- Make It Convenient
As you take steps to refine your target, you begin gaining a better understanding of what they like and don’t like. Most people don’t like going very far out of the way to get or do something. It’s your job to show up where they already are going or help them do what they are already doing. If your products, services and/or content can meet them where they are or help them to get where they want to go, it becomes a win/win and almost a no brainer to partake in what you are offering.
- Keep It Simple
No one wants to jump through a million hoops to get something. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stopped doing something mid-stream because of the amount of time, effort and energy required. If I haven’t planned for it and am not passionately motivated to do it, it has to be super simple for me to incorporate into my daily life. Once you’ve gotten your audience’s attention, it should be very easy to close the deal with the click of a link/button or the submission of their information.
